Grew up in the South, so I appreciate what you are saying! I was thinking more of how very segregated the churches were -- and are -- and the significant role they play(ed) in so many ways.

Thanks. The interesting thing is, that here, you will see those little white churches out in the middle of nowhere, and the fields just nicely go around the small lots of the church property.
